Andhra Pradesh

Andhra PradeshAndhra Pradesh is one such destination that does not brag about its richness. The state is bedecked with ornate palaces, temples, tombs and thriving wildlife sanctuaries. It has some of the most important Hindu temples yet the language conversed here is Urdu, the language of Nawabs. Unity in diversity is the phrase best suited for Andhra Pradesh. The place is said to have been the abode of Pre-Dravidian residents. The region has seen the rule of Mauryans, Satavahanas, Ikshvakus, Pallavas, Chalukyas, Vijayanagars and Tuqhlaqs. The city of Hyderabad was established in 1591 by Quli Qutub Shah of Qutub Shah Dynasty. The Mughals put an end to his dynasty in 1687. Later the Nizams emerged here. Finally after seeing the days of East India Company till 18th century, in 1956 Andhra Pradesh finally emerged as a state.

The major attractions of Andhra Pradesh include the capital city Hyderabad, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam and Puttuparthi. Wildlife Parks like Indira Gandhi zoological Park and Sri Venkateshwara zoological park are home to some rare species of Monkeys, Mandrils, Pumas, Olive, Tigers and many other animals. Visiting Andhra Pradesh during the festival of Ugadi (March) can be a great fun as the entire state is spirited up for the festival.
